Prices for the 20-hour Responsible Adult training requirement vary a lot more than most people expect — depending on the provider, you could pay anywhere from around $40 to $200 or more for what is, at its core, the same government-mandated 20 hours of training in child development, guidance, health, safety, and nutrition.
A few things typically explain the gap:
Live, instructor-led courses with fixed dates tend to sit at the higher end — often $150–$200+ — since they involve scheduling a facilitator and a set number of live sessions. Self-paced online courses are generally the most affordable option, typically ranging from about $40 to $85, since there's no live instructor time to schedule around.
